Sometimes it seems like I am writing a military blog, not a cop blog!  As I have mentioned in previous posts, these two families are so closely tied; many of our officers are serving overseas, and many soldiers, marines, and sailors become cops when they return.

That is just fine with me, as they are the finest women and men I have ever known.  Proof?  Check out this emotional entry on the outstanding cop blog, the enforcer’s roll call notebook.

Why the hell won’t mainstream media publish these stories?  Why?  I have written letters to the editor, I have called major outlets, I have done everything I can.  They just won’t budge.  Had any of you seen this story until I pointed you there? 

But when the folks overseas (or cops for that matter) make a mistake?  FRONT PAGE NEWS.  Same treatment for both sets of public servants…It truly is sad. 

Let us all give thanks for men like Sergeant Gebhardt.  He is what makes our country great.  Happy belated Thanksgiving.
