Wow, what a long break I have taken.  I apologize (or I apologize for coming back, depending on your position I suppose!)

I will be starting up again and have committed to writing more often.  To do so, I will be looking into broader law enforcement topics and controversies, and also beginning some weekly and/or monthly columns.  To that end, I will be asking all of you for some suggestions in the near future.

All of that later.  For now, have a happy and wonderful Thanksgiving, and please think of our members of the armed services who are away from their families, as well as the police officers and firefighters who will be working Thursday  -  and not spending time with theirs.
